Type Street
There is something so nice about this arangment of letters on the street, some old and worn, some new and crisp. I think it is the possibility of what “could” be said or how these letters could be converted into voice. . .Photo by shollingsworth on flickr.

History of Gotham
Long before the profession of graphic design, there were signs and display billboards in american culture, to advertise or display on facades. Gotham features in many of these from the 1930 through to the sixties. Four New widths have been designed by Hoefler & Frere-Jones for 2009.
