Ben Brown Immortal
PRINTS FOR SALE ONLINE
On show will be numbered and signed limited edition prints, plus original works in
ink and paint. The show continues the themes of Bens previous solo show -
‘Kill your Idols’ – which combined celebrity, junk culture, zombies and skulls
in a graphically charged visual extravaganza. These new works pick up
where the previous show left off and the iconic images that are burned in
to our collective cultural psyche are given a new life… albeit as the living dead.
There will be a bonus live performance from rock ‘n’ roll demons Hong Kong,
who have been burning up various floors around town in recent times with
their melodic skuzzball wall of sound.
Opening Night: Friday 10th December 6-9pm.
Come and join us for a Christmas drink! We have loads of new goodies in the shop too, along with all the latest Art Books and Mags.
Exhibition is open from 11th December to 24th January.

HELLO Poster Show
The HELLO Poster Show is making its way to Melbourne!
On December 16th 2010 at 1000 Pound Bend Gallery, over 30 posters, featuring international artists and designers, will be on exhibition and on sale for $30 at the Melbourne Edition of HELLO. The posters will additionally be on exhibit at hellopostershow.com. The proceeds raised from the show will benefit StreetSmart Australia, an organisation supporting and strengthening smaller, grassroots community efforts helping the homeless. More info at StreetSmartAustralia.org.
To date, posters have sold to a worldwide audience raising over $3500 and we are hoping, with support of the Melbourne community, we can raise much more.

Jim Houser
Some words from Jim about the record: “For the last 10 or so years, making music has always been the place that I turned when the paintbrush wasn’t working for me. I found that even when I was burned out from making art, the act of sitting and making music would allow me not to feel like a waste of time and space. I came to realize that this was part of my whole process, so I began to incorporate those sounds into the installations I do in a gallery, to represent everything I made during the last 6 months or so, not just the visual art. And I was very happy with how the sounds accompanied the sights. My music found a home in my artwork. This record represents the best bleeps and bloops and thuds and screeches and crashes from the past 2 years of art shows, condensed and recorded at home into 6 short songs. Just like my paintings: heartfelt and repetitive.”
