The Keg Show

The art of making beer is about to take on a whole new meaning in a one of a kind exhibition, the Keg Show at aMBUSH Gallery on July 1. Byron Bay’s Stone & Wood Brewery has collaborated with 12 of Australia’s leading artists to create three-dimensional works of art on kegs instead of canvases, resulting in pieces that highlight the opportunities for unusual innovation within the visual world. The artists will be painting a keg each, which will then be sold to benefit the charity of the artist’s choice.
The nominated artists have been selected from a wide range of backgrounds and individual styles, including Beci Orpin, Ben Brown, Catherine Campbell, Beastman, Numskull, Sara Hingle, Claudio Kirac, Nick Chalmers, Milly Loveknuckles, Terezka Beck, Amber B and Phibs.
As one of the owners of Stone & Wood, Ross Jurisich, explains, “There’s definitely an art to making great beer, but seeing what these artists have done with our kegs is just amazing. We’re really happy to be working with such a talented bunch of people and excited about helping a bunch of different charities at the same time.”
