Max Berry
The upcoming ‘a search for ground in higher places’ is the first solo exhibition for Max Berry and is the culmination of numerous group shows and an earlier emphasis on stickers, paste-ups and murals. Over the last two years Max has shown in over 20 group exhibitions, most recently; WeAreTheImageMakers ‘12×12’, Freshly Baked ‘The Winter Set’, Carriageworks-CarriageArtworks and Semi-Permanent ‘Mixed business’. Apart from his personal work Max has also been significant in the establishment of Oh Really Gallery and the production of Oh Really Magazine. The Newtown based gallery supports emerging artists and over the last 18 months has encouraged a burgeoning lowbrow art scene, where its DIY and humble nature have picked up an avid following.
The exhibition will include paintings, drawings, jewelry and toys that reflect a search for ground in higher places.
