Mysterious Letters

In a world of emails, sms, and chat, there is something really special about a hand written letter. Finding something hand addressed to you in the mail box, opening it up, the feel of the paper, the character of the imperfect letting.
In April 2009, Lenka Clayton & Michael Crowe decided to send a personal, handwritten letter to each of the 467 households in the small Irish village of Cushendall. With the hope these unsolicited letters would prompt neighbourly discussion, spreading across the town, promoting community curiosity.
The art work consists solely of the discussion between the recipients about what on Earth these letters are, who sent them and why, etc.
Receiving one of these letters would have been such a delightful surprise. So much more personal than an email.
