Next up at the National Grid Gallery is an eclectic group exhibition featuring the creatures of some unique creatures.
With artist backgrounds steaming from tattoo, street, and the traditional. They have been invited to interpret the theme “creatures” in thier own creative voice.

Apeseven’s works currently focuses on elements of alchemy . A process of transmutation depicted by a fusion of childhood creatures, science, complex symbolism akin to early scientists and an aesthetic drawn from an observation of the potential, imagined and observed worlds .

Monsieur Qui (in English Mister Who) is a clever French illustrator who loves cats, dogs, handmade works, brass bands and pastes big posters in the streets of Paris. He works in watercolors and inks and produces some sweet street art.

Cardon Copy

You know those boring old hand made signs you see around the streets, lost pets, rooms for rent, things for sale, garage sales and so on.

Cardon Copy, takes these vernacular of self-distributed fliers and tear- offs we have all seen in our neighborhoods. It involves hijacking these unconsidered fliers and redesigning them, overpowering their message with a new visual language. The fliers are then replaced.

Greg Lamarche

Greg Lamarche an American artist, previously working under the name SP One. Greg’s work is predominantly collage and has a background in graffiti. Brightly coloured collage of typography and vintage textures with a street feel, highly influenced by graffiti. He has a distinctly unique style.

There is something so nice about this arangment of letters on the street, some old and worn, some new and crisp. I think it is the possibility of what “could” be said or how these letters could be converted into voice. . .Photo by shollingsworth on flickr.
